Angela Kinsey from one of the funniest sbows on TV, The Office, knows how to work the red carpet. She also knows how to get ready in a pinch when time is a ticking! We got our hands on her top beauty tips:1. Pick a light-colored nail polish for your manicure—not only does it dry faster, but if it chips before the big night, it’s less noticeable. Try and do your nails the day before so wet nails won’t be an issue on event night. (I always abide by this. Nothing worse than bright red chipped nail polish.)
2. Skip the false lashes and try a great lengthening mascara like CoverGirl LashBlast Length.
3. Choose a long lasting lip color—only one application and it lasts the whole night, all you need is a glossy touch up! (I’ve been wanting to try a lip tint…heard it stays on all day)
4. Make sure your roots are kept at bay – for busy gals like myself, try coloring your hair at-home with Nice ‘n Easy the week of the event to brighten your look and ensure shiny color.
5. EAT! On event day, choose something light but filling so you’ll still feel like your fabulous self when you get into your evening attire.

Can you believe it, I missed the Golden Globes this year! I didn’t even remember to set my DVR. I’ve had to do my fair share of catching up on which hairstyles ruled the red carpet. According to one of my favorite sites, NaturallyCurly.com, loose waves won the popularity contest. Celebrities including Sandra Bullock, Drew Barrymore and Julia Roberts all walked the red carpet sporting gorgeous, loose ringlets.
“Actress Rose Bryne definitely wins the best curl award,” said Michelle Breyer, co-founder of NaturallyCurly.com. “Her delicate waves were classic with a modern twist.” We hear that Harry Josh at John Frieda styled her locks!
Other favorites from the night include Zoe Saldana, Evangeline Lilly, Drew Barrymore, Samantha Harris and Renee Zellweger. Want to achieve similar curls yourself? NaturallyCurly.com suggests trying the Curltini™ Curly Cocktail, which includes:
• Curlisto Bio-Gel Mousse – Works as a conditioning styler and gives your hair added moisture to keep it healthy all year long.
• Curlisto Control I Gel – Features shine agents that will make your hair sparkle all night long, while keeping your tresses intact.
• Curl Junkie Curl Enhancing Spray – Activates sexy, sultry curls and gives your hair that extra oomph.
• Curl Friends Seduce Pomade – Helps keep your hair silky smooth and eliminates fly- aways and frizz on those hot, humid days.
• 8.75’ Long Wide-Toothed Shower Comb
• Curltini Recipe Card
• 1 Spunky Swizzle StickFor more information, please visit NaturallyCurly.com.

Step 2: Curl hair with a 1 1/4 inch barrel curling iron, and spray with TRESemmé Frizz Shield Finishing Spray.

Freida Pinto, star of Slumdog Millionaire, is stunning and so is her hair! Here’s how to get her Academy Awards(R) look.HOW TO GET FRIEDA PINTO’S LOOKCelebrity stylist, Jeffrey Paul, created a fresh and elegant red carpet hair look for Frieda Pinto. Radiant in John Galliano, Pinto’s hair is divided into three parts and twisted back into an architectural, couture flower shape on the right side of the head. “This look has a beautiful architecture; hair is twisted back into a youthful, feminine flower shape that complements Frieda’s face shape and stunning Galliano gown.” Here’s how to get Pinto’s look:
- Start with Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Shampoo and Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Clay Conditioner.
- Mix a cocktail of Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam and Aveda Light Elements Defining Whip. Work the product into wet hair to add texture and volume. “When creating an updo, it’s important to use products that give thickness and body,” said Paul. “Pinto’s hair already has a lot of shine. The cocktail of Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam and Aveda Light Elements Defining Whip provided just the right amount of hold, body and texture without weighing hair down.”
- Blow dry hair back to add lift and height at the roots.
- Create a left side part and divide hair into three sections: three quarters of hair in one section on the right and the remaining hair into two smaller sections.
- Pull the right section of hair back into a low ponytail just behind the right ear above the nape of the neck.
- Twist the ponytail, working Aveda Light Elements Defining Whip into hair. Wrap the ponytail around the base, creating a flower shape. Secure in place with pins.
- Work Aveda Light Elements Defining Whip into each of the remaining sections and twist back and around the flower shape, creating a layered, rose-like effect. “The three twists flow together for beautiful movement,” said Paul.
- Finish the look with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray.
Lastly, shake the head a bit to loosen up the look and provide a sense of natural movement.
