Seems like hair jewelry may be catching on as one of the next big trends. Check out this eyelash necklace and these earrings made out of hair extensions. We first started seeing these kind of pieces on the runway and now boutiques all over are starting to sell them.

For the next week I will be vacationing in Tulum, Mexico! My boyfriend and I are staying at this very affordable, ecological hotel called Zamas. Ever been there? Our beachfront cabana does not have electricity and you know what the means….my hair is going to be HUGE!! Guess my mega diffuser won’t be making the trip. We’ll be taking a lot of pictures so I need to plan out my “Tame the Mane” strategy ASAP. Here’s my hair packing list so far. Let me know if I am missing anything:

When we first heard about

We’ve been busy trying out some new products at PGH, like
Ken Paves Healthy Hair Shine Serum. We think this is a product made for big hair! It smells delicious but not too overpowering and it really makes your hair feel like silk. Be careful to use sparingly on your roots and really concentrate on smoothing out your ends. Too much product may make you look like you skipped a few too many washings.

My roommate Liz and I took a trip to Nordstrom today. As she wandered off in the shoe department, I did some window shopping in accessories. I tried on a couple of beautiful headbands by Tasha. I really liked how the actual band is so small, it really blends into my big hair and makes the gorgeous jewels stick out. This simple piece could really dress up a whole outfit.

A couple of weeks ago we blogged about one of our favorite web sites for hair accessories – FranceLuxe. We just got word from them that Banana Clips are making a come back. Do you remember how popular they were in the 80′s? Banana clips usually don’t hold all my hair, but they do work for the half-up half-down look. They’re great for piecey up-dos too!

About every three months or so, I use a wire hanger to dig my hair out of my shower drain. It’s really gross, even with rubber gloves and a face mask on! But that’s the reality of having PGH. Drano just doesn’t cut it for us.
Turns out we have another option! We were recently contacted by the inventor of
FlexiSnake – a hook-and-loop pad that you slide into your drain opening, twist, pull and like magic out comes a big wad of old, soapy hair. It’s disposable, which is great because who really wants to re-use something that’s been to the darkside of your shower drain?
