Everyone loves to get their hair done at a salon for special events, but it can be very expensive. Especially, if you have 3 weddings, 1 graduation, and a couple baby showers, all in the next few months.
Forget that! Instead, you should invest in a beautiful hair piece. We found a couple online at Nordstroms that are affordable and add that special elegant touch.
Tasha Hydrangea Flower Clip with Austrian Crystals – $38.00

Juicy Couture Butterfly Barrettes – $40

Tasha Skinny Headband with Vintage Stones – $48.00

We just got word of a new website for stylists working with curly hair. It’s curlstylist.com and it is designed to help curly hair stylists with inspiration, education and real-world solutions. Because let’s face it, curly hair is more to handle than straight hair.
The concept for curlstylist.com came from Michelle Breyer and Gretchen Heber of naturallycurly.com, a site for curly girls. They saw a need for product and styling information for women and girls with naturally curly hair and created a thriving online community. Now they are branching out into the professional world of curls.
The new site will officially launch June 2009.

Ever wonder how you could re-purpose a pair of old beat-up jeans? I’m not talkin’ about a mini jean skirt here. I’m talkin’ about a fabulous hair accessory!
Check out this hair clip from Goddess Wear for the Hair. This beautiful piece was created from a pair of vintage jeans from the 80′s and a hot pink pencil skirt circa 1989.
I could totally see Lady Gaga or Fergie sporting this.

Thoughts on Rihanna’s new blonde highlights?
She showed up with this new look last night at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Benefit in New York. This was her first public appearance since all the drama went down with now ex-bf (let’s hope!) Chris Brown.
AP is reporting that she was the last celeb to walk the red carpet and that she did not talk to the press at all. (Smart move.)

Tresemmé had a choice to make. Follow Project Runway to Lifetime or stick with Bravo?
The haircare line chose Bravo and will now be one of the main sponsors of The Fashion Show, the new reality competitor for Project Runway.
So, what was their reasoning? Here’s a quote from the NY Times article.
“Always the safe option is to stay where you’ve been,” said David Kroll, vice president for United States marketing at Alberto-Culver.
“Project Runway” was “a great property and we had a fantastic relationship,” he added, but for Tresemmé “it was starting to lose a little bit of impact, get a little bit stale.”
Read the rest of the story here.
Do you think this was a good move by Tresemmé? I’m not so sure. But, I guess we’ll find out when The Fashion Show premieres on May 7th.

Did you know that every April 30th is Hairstyle Appreciation Day? I just found out!
According to Holidayinsights.com, Hairstyle Appreciation Day celebrates uniqueness of all styles of hair. (Even Big Hair!) It allows us to express our individuality.
So, in honor of this special day I leave you with this horribly bad picture of me when I was 16 years old. I’m glad to say my hair has come a looonnnng way.

We just got our hands on some pics of Micha Barton’s new headband line for Stacey Lapidus thanks to Trend Hunter. We’ve been waiting for these things to come out for a couple months now.
Bringing out that inner hippie, her new line includes all sorts of pearls, feathers, silk jute, gold, silver and crystals to make up the colorful head accessories.
You’re not going to see these things at Walmart or CVS. Costing in the range of $50 – $100, the “The Versailles Collection” headband line will be available in specialty stores. Fancy!

What is up with Christina Aguilera’s way-too-short fringe bangs? C’mon now! Here she is at the LG Rumorous Night launch party in West Hollywood last night.
I think it’s great that she wants to be in the Big Hair Club, but her bangs just don’t mesh with her waves.
Do you agree or disagre?
I love the new bang trend but not everyone can pull it off…clearly!
