Backstage At the Hollywood Life’s 11 Annual Young Hollywood Awards

Posted on June 9th, 2009 by Premium Grade Hair  |  2 Comments »

The hottest stars celebrated Hollywood’s rising talent at Hollywood Life’s 11 Annual Young Hollywood Awards in Santa Monica.  Hosted by Lara Spencer of The Insider, the awards were presented by today’s top celebrities and recognized the outstanding accomplishments of each emerging artist.  What has become known as the “Oscars of Young Hollywood”, the premiere award ceremony once again took the lead in showcasing the future of Hollywood’s best and brightest.

As always, we have to comment on some hair-worthy looks we spotted. I guess it didn’t hurt that Sebastian Professional Hair Care was backstage helping all the celebs get pretty.

First up, Adam Lambert. Word on the street is that Adam spent a lot of time talking to the stylists about new styles he can try on his hair and new Sebastian products he can use. This totally doesn’t surprise us.

Next…AnnaLynne McCord. She took home the Superstar of Tomorrow Award. After accepting the award, McCord picked up some Sebastian hair products and Tree Hut scented lotions. She sure knows how to tame her crazy curls!

Last up, Twilight hottie Kellan Lutz and supermodel Bar Refaeli. We heard that Bar asked one of the Sebastian stylists what she can do to improve the dryness of her hair. We think she should read PGH for some advice.

Help – I Have a Dry, Itchy Scalp!

Posted on June 8th, 2009 by Premium Grade Hair  |  1 Comment »

img00057My little sister Brittany has a dry, itchy scalp. She came to stay with me over the weekend and we were determined to find a remedy.  We turned to Eufora’s Urgent Repair Replenishing Treatment. The bottle says to leave the product on your hair for 15 minutes covered with plastic, then rinse. Britt said that her scalp felt tingly, in a good way. I sent her home with the bottle and told her to keep me updated on her scalp status. We’ll let you know if Eufora does the trick…or not. So stay tuned!

Curl Cloth Giveaway

Posted on June 5th, 2009 by Premium Grade Hair  |  5 Comments »

clu-three-sets

We’re giving away a set of Curls Like Us Curl Cloths to one lucky PGH reader!

Curl Cloths are designed to absorb just the right amount of moisture from your hair ensuring that your favorite curl-friendly styling product properly sets the curl for optimal smoothness, shine and definition.

Here’s why they’re better than a towel – The texture of a traditional terry towel causes friction, lifting the cuticles of the hair.  Aside from encouraging frizz, terry cloth towels can cause tangles, hair breakage,  split ends and even inhibit shine.

Premium Grade Hair always needs some extra lovin’ and it seems like Curl Cloths may be just the thing. To enter, simply leave a comment telling us why you want to win. We’ll announce the winner on Monday, June 15th. Good luck!

Seriously, I can’t go one day without reading about Kate Gosselin’s hair. Everybody wants it!! Her half bob, half spiky do is all the rage and honestly, I just don’t get it. I personally would never want this hairdo. From what I hear, the well-known mom has extremely thick hair and it takes quite a while to prep it everyday to get the famous look.

Tell us, do you dig this do? If you’ve tried it and have pics, please send our way!!

Happy Birthday, L’Oreal

Posted on June 5th, 2009 by Susan  |  Comments Off

On Thursday, June 4th, L’Oreal celebrated it’s 100th year of being a world leader in beauty products! In 1909, French chemist Eugene Schueller concocted a safe dye for hair, calling it l’Aureale after a popular hair style of the moment in the fashion-forward city of Paris. From then on, an empire was built. L’Oreal has brought us trusty hair dyes, shampoos, conditioners, styling products, and body care products at affordable prices. What’s not to love?

So, thank you for the past 100 years, L’Oreal, and we at PGH wish you many, many more!!! loreal_9_501

Posted on June 5th, 2009 by Premium Grade Hair  |  Comments Off

scrunchieWe just read on The Cut that American Apparel is bringing the scrunchie back. We had to see it to believe it..and it’s true! They have every single color, including a variety in neon, for sale on their website. This is one fashion from the 80′s that I truly hope does not start to catch on again. What do you think?
