Check out this picture of Lauren Conrad with brunette hair. No, The Hills star has not taken on a new identity. Her dramatically different tresses were courtesy of a wig for a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

In the article, Lauren states that blonde hair is the only look that works for her day-to-day life. Otherwise, according to her, she just looks like a “Plain Jane”. What do you think?

To see more pics of LC as a brunette and to read more about what she has to say, pick up the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on newsstands July 21st.

We often mention Kim K on PGH, mainly because she has amazing hair and never fails to try new things. Well, Kim recently took to her blog to write about her hair feelings as well.

In her words, “I love experimenting with hair looks! It keeps things interesting and new, and thanks to the amazing and talented hair stylists who create my looks, I know I’m always in good hands and my hair will always look red-carpet ready! haha.”

We love someone who isn’t afraid to switch things up! It shows she is confident and doesn’t take herself too seriously. Doesn’t hurt that she always looks gorgeous.

Celebrity Hair Stylist Kimberly Clo Releases New DVD

Posted on July 14th, 2009 by Premium Grade Hair  |  2 Comments »

Now-YOU-know-How-DVDThis just in…

Kimberly Clo recently released her new DVD, Now You Know How…To Blow-Dry Your Hair.

Kimberly has a complete list of celebrity clientele, including country music star Sara Evans. She is known for her ‘to-die-for’ blow outs which are always done sans flat iron. (Nice to know she doesn’t take the easy way out!)

Want to know how to keep your blow-out lookin’ salon-worthy even longer?

Kimberly says to “take each hair section and blow dry it all the way until it shines, not just to the point where it feels dry. This means you got to go a few strokes past when you think you’re done. Then go back over the hair section once more for good measure and enjoy!”

Her 65-minute “how to” DVD covers everything from the best tools to blow dry techniques to styling tips for achieving two coveted classic looks – sleek straight and straight with just a hint of bouncy movement. Kimberly demonstrates these tried and true techniques first on models and then on her own hair showing that it really is possible to style yourself. With over 16 years salon experience, Kimberly offers advice and encouragement all along the way.

Have you head about Nair’s new Shower Power? It’s their new hair removal water-repellent cream that you use in the shower.

I haven’t used it yet, but was very interested in giving it a try. So, I just did some quick research to see what people are saying about this new product.

Check out this post on Naturallycurly.com. This one person who wrote in said Shower Power made her bleed! It didn’t get good reviews on About.com either. However, this one blogger is saying Shower Power is her new BFF.

Ah! Guess I’m going to have to try this stuff out for myself. Stay tuned for my review. And in the meantime, let us know if you give Nair’s Shower Power thumbs up or down.

Bethenny Frankel from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City made a special trip (with her new beau) to South Beach last week for SOBeFiT Magazine’s Fittest Person of the Year Inaugural Event. Her hair was lookin’ fab despite the rainy and ultra-humid weather outside. Before the event, Bethenny paid a visit to celeb stylist Rob Scheppy for a cut & blowout. Rob has styled hair for tons of celebs like Daisy Fuentes, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Kristen Cavallari, to name a few.

Here’s Bethenny with SOBeFiT Magazine Editor-In-Chief Marta Montenegro mixing SkinnyGirl Margaritas…Yum! An insider source tell us she was feeling a little under the weather this day, but we sure couldn’t tell!

Laser Hair Removal – Treatment #1

Posted on July 6th, 2009 by Premium Grade Hair  |  2 Comments »

LegsAs promised, I have decided to chronicle my laser hair removal adventure here on PGH. My first treatment is done and now I am ready to share what I learned…

1. Is laser hair removal painful?

Yes, at times. My legs didn’t hurt. But the Brazilian was painful at certain spots.

2. What does it feel like?

The laser feels like a pinch that stings. I’ve never had a tattoo, but I can imagine the feeling is similar.

3. How long did the first session take?

The full Brazilian and bottom half of my legs took just under one hour.

4. Did you use anything to numb the area?

Yes, I used a numbing cream for my Brazilian.

5. Did you break out in a rash?

I was a little red after the treatment. Later on though, I went out for my girlfriend’s birthday and when I looked down my legs were covered in red splotches. The next morning they were fine.

6. Are you silky smooth right after the treatment?

No way! The stumble stays. It actually takes about 10 days for the hair to fall out.

7.  How long do you have to wait in between sessions?

I was told at least 6 weeks and no later than 10.

8. After the Brazilian treatment, can you have sex?

Yes, but you should be on top to prevent rubbing.

9. How should I prepare for laser hair removal?

Shave 24-48 hours ahead of time. Make sure you have enough stubble. Don’t tan a week prior or a week after your treatment.

10. What happens if I tan too early?

Your skin can change pigment and maybe never return to your natural color.
